Traditionally, priests in Odisha performed Vedic rituals using handwritten palm-leaf manuscripts. However, these manuscripts contained language errors and inconsistencies. This led to flawed rituals, disrupted ceremonies, and left the patrons (Yajamans) feeling regretful.To fix this, the author’s grandfather (the late scholar Sankarshana Mahapatra) carefully standardized the ritual rules. He compiled them into five accurate books and had them printed in Calcutta. These books became highly sought-after but quickly went out of print due to limited copies. Over time, other publishers tried to copy these books but introduced errors and changes. Seeing this, the author has completely restored and reprinted the original, accurate treasury texts to preserve his grandfather's legacy. He hopes Vedic scholars and priests will find it valuable once again.
