Pipli is famous for skillfully and creatively appealing designs on textiles using a traditional technique called Applique. The skills of these artisans are so highly developed that they can bind cloth by hand in any manner they choose. It generally takes up to 3 days to complete from start to finish, even though we all know that this 'Applique' work can be done much faster with the help of machine sewing machines. The artisans of Pipli specialize in making beautiful colorful appliqued wall hangings; in different themes such as Jagannath of Puri, Jagannath, Balabhadra and Subhadra Idols, Flowers, Animals & Birds, Ganesha, etc.
